The Pavilion of Time

Designed by renowned Chinese designer Wu Bin, The Pavilion of Time is a miniature architecture built upon time itself, situated at the heart of the Jardin du Palais-Royal.

Composed of mirror-polished stainless steel and a translucent membrane reminiscent of the warmth and delicacy of Chinese Xuan paper, the pavilion forms a circle divided into three equal 120° segments, with a ring path inviting visitors to move through its centre.

The mirrored surface dissolves the solidity of the structure, drawing the surrounding landscape, sky, and passing figures into its reflections. The translucent membrane filters daylight, transforming the pavilion into a monumental sundial where light becomes the measure of time.
